Anniversary Celebrations

Hi loves!

I first want to start out by saying Happy Memorial Day! Remember that this day is not about present/former veterans (that day would be Veterans Day!), but instead our great nations late veterans who gave their all. Without them, our nation would not be what it is today. May we never forget!

This past Thursday, May 21st my boyfriend and I celebrated our 1 year dating anniversary! Time sure does fly, and we were excited to celebrate
together this past weekend. On the day of our anny, we decided to keep it simple since it was a work night. We ended up exchanging gifts and getting take out once I got to his apartment. It was perfect just keeping it simple and spending time together with wine, Chinese, and some TV shows!

The next night, after work, I went back to his place and we went out to dinner. We went to a restaurant that is on our bucket list: Two Urban Licks! We both have been wanting to go here for some time. We were able to sit outside and both enjoy seafood! Now I won’t go too much into detail (review wise of the restaurant), but I do want to mention a little about our experience…

Our waitress was a total klutz. She was so spastic throughout our dinner that she ended up spilling two dishes by our table before we even ordered drinks. When she was bringing my boyfriend Justin’s drink to him, she ended up slipping on some olive oil that she spilt earlier, and spilled his drink all over him and her! A little hilarious, a little unbelievable. Although she was completely embarrassed, she still managed to sling water on Justin once again when picking up our plates. I couldn’t believe it! Haha… at least he got a free, overpriced bourbon out of it all.

Overall the restaurant was great. The menu is pretty pricey, but for the type of food you’re eating, it seems to be pretty normal. The restaurant is also located on the belt line, which is convenient!
After dinner, we met up with some friends in downtown at the new Fado’s to watch the Hawks (sadly) lose. It was still a great night though!

We were also able to spend some time with some of my family this weekend, as well as Justin’s family and close family friends, Rachel and GB. They were kind enough to invite us, along with some of Justin’s family, to stay with them this weekend. We were able to enjoy about 24 hours of complete relaxation by the pool with drinks, many laughs with good company, endless food options (including both baked and smoked ribs), and great yard games. It was a perfect mini getaway from everyday life, and the Pratt’s were beyond hospitable to us!

Below are some snapshots of our weekend:

Scallops with Gouda grits and mahi mahi.

Perfect city view.

He knows me too well!

An entire day full of relaxation with my love!

Cheers to many more years together, and cheers to living in the greatest country in the world, where you get to appreciate the privilege of freedom- but knowing freedom is NOT free!

Love to all,
