Nashville is one of my favorite places to be, so making a trip up this past weekend definitely made me a happy, happy girl. Granted, it wasn't the best weekend to go with the SEC championship, the spotty weather, and Daylight Savings but we dealt with all the curve-balls that were thrown and had a trip worth remembering.
First up: the restaurants we visited and you should consider visiting too!
- Slider House - slider sandwiches of all kinds, and some pretty great parmesan fries and beer specials (not the best beer but sometimes beer is beer at a certain price).
- Hattie B's Hot Chicken - waited 1 1/2 hours for some of this, and yes...it was delicious and hot and after we were done eating, all was right in the world. Note: a local told us to try out Prince's Hot Chicken, too!
- Cochon Butcher - A New Orleans inspired restaurant with a lot of pork dishes, including a dish called 'Le Pig Mac' which is their take on a Big Mac. Pretty simple but pretty amazing. The menu was a bit pricey so be prepared for that.
- Biscuit Love - This was the best place I went to. The line to get inside was insane, but if you're smart you'll scout out the bar situation since the seating is first come first serve. I ended up doing this and cut at least an hour off of my waiting time! The biscuits were great, and they serve Atlanta based Octane Coffee. I got the Southern Benny, but the next time I go I'll be trying the East Nasty.
- Five Daughters Doughnuts - Some delicious donuts in the cutest house- they also serve paleo and dairy free ones, too. Make sure to watch their donut cam online to see how busy they are/if they've sold out! (We may have watched this...).
- Peg Leg Porker - If you want some fall-off-the-bone finger lickin' ribs, go here. Priced really well too.
- Barista Parlor - The hippest coffee shop in town. I've never been anywhere like it (think of sitting in an open garage while sitting on wooden tree stumps). Great coffee options and tasty, tasty biscuits and oatmeal.

We stayed downtown in the Hutton hotel our first night. For the rest of our trip we rented a house through Airbnb in East Nashville. This is something I would recommend doing in any city! Bonus: the owner of the house had 4 dogs that she let us cuddle with our whole trip. Score!
Last but not least - we found some pretty great wall art all around Nashville.
So much art, not enough time. ;)

If you haven't caught on, Nashville is FULL of gems and there are always things to go see and do! Leaving this city is never easy. Sigh. Nashville, I hope to see you again real soon.
