How to Plan a Beautiful Bridal Shower

I'm here today to share some tips on how to have a beautiful bridal shower! Whether you're hosting as a Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor, or trying to figure out how you want your own bridal shower to look, girl I'm here to help! These 5 quick tips will help make planning one of your most memorable days easy and fun.

Tip 1: Pick a theme! As soon as your start thinking about planning a shower, it's best to come up with a theme. If you're the bride, brainstorm what it is you envision your shower to look like. A little Kate Spade-esque with bold colors, golds, and polka dots!? Set. A winter themed shower with lots of white, wooden textures, and burgundy? Perfect. Once you know, send this information over to your bridesmaids so they are informed of your vision!

I had my shower theme be what I named 'Garden Brunch'. I imagined lots of greenery, neutrals, blush pinks, a lot of flowers, and gold detailing. Pretty much me in decor form. Here are a few photos below.

Tip 2: Pick a setting. Where would you like to have your shower? This also plays into your theme because of the surroundings you choose. Think inside someone's home, in a rented banquet room, in a clubhouse, a historic building, in a grassy field, a garden, back patio, and the list goes on. See how all of these places are different in their own right?! Once these two items are nailed down, you've made some great progress.

Tip 3: Pick out your focal points. Now what I mean here is it is best to pick out a few physical locations for your focal points (think dining room table, kitchen island, sun room), but you also need to plan out what it is that you want your focal point to consist of. Food? Strictly decor? A shrine of items of your soon to be hubby and you? Ha! Whatever you choose, it's best to hone in on one or two of these. The focal points that my bridesmaids created for me were a biscuit bar on the kitchen island, a dessert table in the dining room, and a picture collage game on a side table.

Tip 4: Have games and items for your guests. Besides showering the bride, showers are also meant to entertain the guests. Having games helps guests to interact while also making memories. When I say 'items' I mean anything from that the guests (and bride!) will enjoy looking at. Whether it be old photos of the bride, scrapbooks/collages, a timeline of the couple and the history of their relationship, sweet stories on how the bride and her bridesmaids each met, fun facts about the bride/couple, their engagement story, what they are wanting for their future... and the list goes on. Get creative with it. :)

Tip 5: Having shower favors and gifts. Tying in the shower favors with the theme of the shower can help to bring it all together from beginning to end. From the moment guests walk in, until the time they leave with their favor, they're aware of what the bride was going for with her bridal shower style.
